Celebrating Devon’s diverse habitats, this collection of short films sought to inspire viewers to help protect the UK’s natural world – wherever they live. For each episode, I composed a specific motif based on the footage used. These illustrations helped viewers visualise the landscape
The series was a collaboration between WWF, Sky Ocean Rescue, North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, National Trust and the Environment Agency.

The films were created by Nina Constable and Mindfully Wired Communications. They can be viewed in full here.

I was commissioned to create watercolour spot illustrations as well as an illustrated map that were featured in the film’s introductions, voiced by Springwatch’s Gillian Burke. The illustrations were also used in the accompanying promotional literature for the premier in the form of ‘pledge cards’.

For each film I chose a motif species as featured in the short, which I brought to life in my splashy watercolour style.
